Im ever so confused on what exactly video card memory is. Like when you get a 1GB DDR3 video card. Does that add like another gig of RAM? >< ARG im confused. please help me :]

a graphics card does have its own memory,these days most new ones have 512min up to 2gb.
They can also use system memory if the card runs out of memory but usualy games dont require that much.
he didnt mention any card
just because he mentioned a card with 1gb of vram doesnt mean its good card.

i mean the 1gb ddr3, from that it looks like it would be good, dude i mean as some specs i dont need to know what model to know thats high end

The computer i want is the Acer AX1300-U1801A. It has a PCI-E x16 slot open and im wondering could i put an NVidia GTS 250 (BFGRGTS2501024OCE) into this computer? Im not a complete idiot with computer but im not very intelligent either lol. I know that the computer has a PCI- E slot and then the graphics card is PCI- E so i put it together and it should work right?

where would it go LOOK, try getting a full tower, those little ones arent worth it if you ever think of changing things, like OCing, or more fans.

ah darn :[ just rip up my dreams, but now lets analyze this As of now my only income is buying shoes, drawing on them, and selling them afterwards. So i make money pretty slowly. So lets say i buy the acer i want. use it for a while, then when i get the money for the graphics card i want, i take a loan from my parents and get a new shell and the graphics card and rearrange it all into the new case? would that work

putting new components in a prebuilt system is a bad idea generally for several reasons, especially video cards.
Firstly, that card is too big for that case.
Secondly, prebuilt system have the bare minimum when it comes to power supplies, they will power what is sat in that system when it is first bought and not alot, if any, more. Because graphics cards drink so much electricity they mean when upgrading , especially such a massive leap as an 8200 to GTS250, that the power supply is under more strain. If you have built the system and planned for upgradability, generally this is safe, but with a prebuilt system it will simply blow because it can't handle the load, and that will potentially take out other components too.
Also you must make sure that you have enough memory to support the card. What i mean is that you should have as much as you have in the card and then more, so, say you got a 1GB card then you would need atleast say 2GB+ memory, 1GB of memory would be a bad idea.
So what i am saying is if you want a new card (lets say the GTS250) you will need a new case and a better power supply, but i would also recomend getting a new processor because that would then bottleneck your system because the graphics card is so much more advanced than the processor in that system. So, because of that, it would be a better idea to simply get a new system built yourself.

there is an example, and that is a piss poor card so no, memory does not = quality. There are deffinately very very good cards with 1gb memory, but you can't tell the power of a card from its memory, that would be like saying that a 9400gt is equal to a gtx285

yay! iv learned so much today :] so this is probably a stupid question lol but the power supply is inside the computer correct? and if i bought a barebones computer and put an intel core i7 with the gys 250 and a nice power supply would that work fine?

1gb DDR3 can be on a 4650...and the 4650 definately isnt that great of a card.
Most barebones from say, tiger or compusa are pretty cheap or stuff they are trying to get rid of. If your looking to build a computer though, post something in the desktop computers forum with a budget and whatnot, and we can get you a list of parts you would need to build one
