Video Card Output Options

How do most video cards work as far as what outputs. Are they like the normal computer monitor output and S-video output both work at the same time, and show the same thing. Or when you use a TV, the monitor turns off. Or I have seen like 2 screens, where the mouse can go from one to the other? Or are there options. Im talking mainly cheap cards ($100 about) if that changes it.

Most cards provide output for the tv nowadays. Usually the computer screen stays on while you have the tv plugged in. Alot of options with that. You can have 12 desktops if you want depending on the options of that card. But for $100, you should be able to buy a decent card. Every card is dfifferent though. Some provide direct access with s-video output while others supply you (usually) with an adapter of sorts...
