Video Card Overheating

i have a xfx geforce 250 gts superclocked and it keeps over heating there are no other major heat creaters in the case so what can i do to fix it?
 
Alright i had the exact same problem but theres one of 2 things you can do..depending on how much room you have, i'd say that you can get a vga cooler, but if you are going to go sli it won't help much also you can do a case mod at the top of your case and put atleast 4 80 mm fans there if you cant do that get one of 2 cases the "haf" or antec 900- 1200 series i hope that helped
 
i have a PowerUp ATX Black Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side and 5 80mm fans all around in it isn't that enoguh cooling? and i am planning to go sli with them so it wont do much and the vga cooler will bend my card the place where it goes into the pci e slot so thats all there is too it.. please tell me the best solution
 
umm.... hmmm.... well the case that u have is kind of crap for air flow its just one of those pretty cases with no performance.... sorry but its true do NOT put high end parts into something liek that if your kind of short on cash and your going sli.... ummm.. get the antec 900 or 900 and two those are really cheap high performance cases thats what i would do i think you can get it at tiger direct for 170 or if if they have it at smaller computer stores then i'd say they would be cheaper there probably like $100-$130 yea.. i'd get the antec its cheap and reliable, i myself have the HAF case but thats expensive if you want good advice buy the antec 900 cheap reliable really good air flow you'll be really happy, its quiet and keeps everything relatively cool
 
There shouldn't be anything wrong with that case. Download EVGA Precision and see what percentage the fan speed is running at. Stock speed is around 30%. You can crank it up in Precision. Definitely easier than doing a case mod :P

Yeah, his 5 80mm fans provide decent enough airflow for an entire case. Id do as kookooshortman suggested and set fans higher, clear any dust from the fins, etc.

Not to mention the endless drone that would come with 5 80mm fans running together :P

Although it might be a good idea to install a 120mm on top as an exhaust, just to help out a bit. I wouldn't make it a priority though.
