Attainable card dimension info is sketchy at best.
Is their a standard?
Amazon lists sizes but seems to be of the box mostly.

If you can post your card model and it's length and perhaps width here, it may help others.

Height of video cards come in 2 flavours: Full height and half height. The latter is for low profile cases, you will need a low profile bracket as well.

Length is a different story. It varies greatly. Low end models may only be as long as the PCI-E connector. High end can be double that.

For reference, the 5770/GTX460 cards are anywhere between 8" and 8.5" depending on brand and whether it's a reference model card or a custom pcb design.

Well. its not all about me. No matter where you go, not very often are dimensions w/ the product details. Even at a store you'll probly have to open the box. I know it's not much of a concern for most ppl. For others it may be. Case size, like htcp or mini towers. And in some larger cases drive bays could be in the way for a large card. So yeah, it would help me, but not just me.

As for me, one of my cases, the one im using right now, is LIKE
this one,, but this isnt it. I was able to manage my cables very well even with an axt motherboard. This pic is of an old review but the card is full heigth im sure.

or Nvidia cards, go to their website and look for the card you are considering getting, dimensions are on there. As an example, a GTX 580:

Click Specifications, scroll to the bottom and it has under the heading "Standard Graphics Card Dimensions" the dimensions of the card.

This is true for all reference cards, which is what just about all video cards are, unless they specify otherwise. Even if it is a custom PCB, you are looking at .5" difference at most


Unfortunately ATi doesn't have anything similar, so the thread may be useful for ATi cards, but not Nvidia, there are easier ways.

Benny boy, also look at updating the first thread as and when people put in dimensions, rather than leaving them scattered here and there
 
^ I planned on it. :good: I doubt there will be many entries, but what there is will be managed. Thx for the NVIDIA. XFX has it also.
I'll look for others. Perhaps someone knows if there are any standard sizes but only as it relates to pcb's and not models.
Are there 2 that are standard?(not counting shrouds, cooling, or custom)
