Hey all, just finsihed putting together my new computer, first time for me.

Everything seems to work fine, i installed all drivers and everything, but my when i plug my monitor into the video card, i get no picture at all

whats the next step? i went and downloaded the drivers from the website even..still nothing, and im stuck

Sapphire radeon HD4850

Thanks...

How was everything working fine? You got the drivers installed and everything. But you cant see anything on the monitor. How have you installed anything if you cant see any thing on the monitor?

Is what you mean, you have hooked everything up and nothing is coming up on the monitor? You turn it on and the fans fire up, but a blank screen/no input?

Yeah kinda confusing like stranglehold said.
How were you able to setup but no display ?

Or maybe you used the onboard display, then when you plugged your Radeon Card you don't get anything, is that is ?

yes the on board display works fine, but i cant get the video card to do anything

How do i go about disabling the on board card? i cant find anything in my Mobo manual..

try that. Then, switch back to onboard video. Then, right click on my computer, click properties, go to the hardware tab, click on device manager and go to display drivers. If it is there, then can you get rid of the onboard video drivers? They may be conflicting. If its not there, go and make sure that you have the power hooked up correctly and that the card is seated correctly, and try again. If still nothing, get an RMA, and get a new video card.

you dont need to install the display drivers to get a display. The display will just not be that great of quality until you do though.

tried all that..disabled the onboard card..restarted..nothin seems to be working..i just get a black screen through the new card, but it works through the onboard wwhether its disabled or enabled..

i was under the assumption that the computer would just detect it as new hardware and i would have to install drivers from there..but i'm not gettin anything from the new vid card

Im going to try to put it in my friend computer and see if that works, otherwise idk what else to do...send it back to newegg then. Is new egg fairly easy to work with on returns and exchanges?

Did you connect the power cable to the card? just a question. coz if you forgot to plug the power cable to the card it would not work.

That would be a good idea if you had another computer to try it on.

Since this is a 4850, what kind of P/S do you have?

any other ideas? the car won't fit in the computer that i was gunna try it in, it's too big..

I really don't wanna go thru the hassel of sending it back and getting a new one, especially if thats not the problem..so if anyone has anything else i could try that would be great..
