video card problem?!

hi,

alright, i bought a 128MB video card for my P3. now i looked up the specs of the video card and motherboard and i thought it would work, now apparently it doesn't. its a ATI radeon 9000 128MB DDR 64 bit AGP 2X/4X.
i put in my old 32 ati rage and everything is fine. then i tried an old 64mb geforce and everything is good too. so whats the deal here?
i pass the minimum requirments that are listed on the back of the box. i don't know what the deal is, i'm not great with video cards. the computer just runs but i have no picture in my monitor.

start the computer then a weird beeping sound comes up.... BEEEEEEEP.. beep beep. usually it just goes.. beep. then i see the post.
the next thing i will try is plugging the card into my P4 that i use everyday and see what happens. i thought of this for alittle bit and maybe the DDR ram on the card cannot be mix/matched with the SDRAM thats on my motherboard. i thought this wouldn't matter though. enless it does? i really don't know. please help, i would like the video card to work. its brand new too! i just got it today.
so does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

The RAM wont be a problem- the beeps you hear are the motherboard complaining that it cant initialize the video card. Try it in your P4 system.

so what you're saying is that this card will not work in my P3?
i'll give it a shot in the P4.

it looks like you are correct can you send us the full motherboard specs or something

It should work... but apparently it isnt, and i would try something else, as you arent going to make any progress, im thinking.

hmm this really sucks then.
well then what should i look for? i just need to be able to hook up two monitors and must have 128MB with a silent fan if there is a fan attached to the card.

thanks for the VERY quick responses fellas. greatly appreciated.

The modern AGP cards are AGP3.0 compliant and use 1.5V. Older cards use 3.3V. It might just be that the slot is 3.3V and won't work with your new card.
