video card quesiton

Would I be able to use an ATI Radeon X1300 512mb AGP graphics card with an ABIT AV8 motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor? If not, what cards would work? (I'd mainly be using my computer for digital photography, microsoft office, and a few games)

If that motherboard has an AGP 8X slot then yes. There is no compatibility issues between a video card brand/chipset and the mobo or CPU...that's usually just a preference. People with nVidia chipsets on there motherboard like to have nVidia graphics cards, but it's not a necessity.

kind of overkill for photography, but will perform nicely in games, due to its high memory.
Wow. Video memory doesnt mean sh*t. My 9700PRO 128mb card will out do that x1300PRO 512mb card. (sorry, i just need to clear up this common mis-understanding)
Anyways, if that mobo has an AGP slot and supports that CPU, you are good to go.

i would've worded it differently, but motoxrdude is right... 512mb is unnecessary for that card and will not play games on very high qualities.
it should be just fine for what you plan on doing with your computer, but id rather get a better gpu with less memory for my money. i hear ATI has some avivo driver that may help you do what you plan on doing... though avivo might not help someone like myself.

if you've got super slow system memory the 512mb may help some... but not enough to matter a whole lot.
say you had ddr266 in single channel. not too fast lol
