video card question

hi,

just have a question on video cards since i'm not too keen on them.

1) will a 128mb AGP8X card work on a AGP4X motherboard? what will the results be like.

i have this other computer, its a P3 733mhz and the mobo has only AGP4X. i would like to get a 128MB video card in that machine but i don't know if there are any cards out there that are 128mb AGP4X.
now a friend told me that MSI made a GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb AGP4X
when i searched it up on ebay i only found a few and they're all AGP8X.
so i was wondering if the AGP8X card will work on a AGP4X motherboard as smoothly as it would if the card was AGP4X.

yes a AGP8X videocard will work on a 4X. there should not be much of a difference but there will be some just not a lot.
 
oh ok cool. thanks fellas. i'll just upgrade to a 256 AGP8X and stick this 128 into my other computer.

if your upgranding, I assume that your getting a new motherobard and in that case, why not look at PCIe

I agree, just buy a MOBO with a PCI-e,...... SLi if you ever plan on using it in the future. Just consider If your going to be buying a new mobo anyways you might as well.
