video card specifications

Can someone please explain the specifications for a video card as given by, say, for example, NewEgg.com when they try to sell you one.

It's a bit complicated to explain because the biggest difference comes from the number of cores similar to your cpu, but they have a huge number of them, and due to different architectures and nvidia's cuda core you can't just say 2048 cores beats 1536, because nvidia's 1536 is slightly better than AMD's 2048

Really it just depends on the price you want and what your current hardware is, if you tell us that we can tell you the best card to get

It's very difficult to compare GPUs solely based on specs. Your best bet would be to look at the reviews of individual cards, or to look through a benchmark database like this:
www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

and to see individual framerates anandtech.com's benches section is good and i think they have a scoreboard for all their cards too and they only keep the latest cards on there refreshing the list annually so it's not full of old stuff like that list.

Video Card

I looked at videocardbenchmark.net.com and came up with one they have at NewEgg. This is a Radeon HD 6750. I'm not upgrading---I'm putting one together to sell. Though I've already sold about 20 of these, I don't feel quite right about it. I've been doing this for a year and half. I know enough to put them together and make them work. Are my customers just naive or something? I'm selling them at 1/2 cost. I never make any money. It's a losing venture.
