Video Card That'll Last...

If you read the first review on it the guy said he got about 5500 after it was OC'ed. My x850xt gets 6300 at stock speeds, aside from that you have to factor in that the x850xt has 16 pixel pipelines and the x1600 has 12. Clock speeds are not that important at all, now days new cards have higher pipelines and lower core and mem speeds....this keeps the temp down and allows for greater detail and performance.

Riiight, ok... I'm finally getting somewhere then!

I have thought about it for a while, read reviews etc, and have came to the conclusion that buying the Sapphire X800GTO2 and modding it to the X850XT is the best idea for "bang for ya buck".

Read here:

As long as I get the Sapphire version of the card, it is practically guaranteed to get to an X850XT spec card.

P.S. 3DMark0(x) doesn't justify which cards are better than others...

In sheer performance...yes they do. Im talking about 3dmark tests that are only based on the graphic part, i dont run the cpu test/pixel shader/sound. Anyways generally when you look at their 3dmark score the higher is always the better.

P.S show me a situation where the card with the lower score is better :)

well, i think you miss read, the GT has better preformance in games, but the GS benched better.... i was just proving you wrong about how 3DMarks is absolute about its scored with comparing videocards

Well my x800GTO supports HDR.
I finally got confirmation that the x800-x850 series do not support HDR. I tried out Far Cry on my computer and there was no option for HDR even though the game has HDR support. If you were to get a x1000 series or 7000 nvidia series the option to enable HDR would be there.

i have no option to enable HDR in farcry and i am runnin a 7800gt. you have to use the console to enable hdr in farcry

\r_hdrrendering 7 (numberes 1 to 11, but people say 7 is best)

unless u are using a X1000 series card, AA must me disabled.

EDIT: must be usin latest FC Patch, 1.33 i think.)
