Forget it! Actually don't plan on Vista running well on a 4x not 4x/8x capable board unless you have met the minimum requirements on all other hardwares like cpu, memory. The compatibilty page for Vista has a free tool for download if you haven't tried that already seen at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx

Have 2gb of memory installed? The actual basic requirements are

1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB of system memory
40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with:
  • WDDM Driver
  • 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)
  • Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware
  • 32 bits per pixel
DVD-ROM drive

i already ran that tool and everything peaked out but graphics. i have 700gb HD installed with 1.5gb ram and a ati 9250 pci 256 card right now. jsut need to upgrade so it runs smoother.
computer is a 3.2 celeron

As well as the vendors you can order from depending on where you are what make and model board are you running? That will help here quite a bit.

Video Card Problem

I have this Msi 945gzm3 motherboard and I need to know what is the best video card to get? Also, how could I find out what exactly is compatible?

That model board runs a PCI-Express 16x not AGP type card even. http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=945GZM3-L&class=mb

The memory standard for that is DDR2 533/400 upto 2gb for the micro atx model board there. It only takes one look at the specifications seen on any make and model board to see what it supports. But you should have started a new thread rather then cutting in on bigrich0086 here.

The best card depends on the type of things you are running. Most are looking at 8600s and 8800s for gaming while others may look at some Radeon HD 2600s or even HD 2900s at this time.

Budget?

2600XT/ 8600GT < HD3850/8800GS < HD3870/ 9600GT < 8800GT < 8800GTS
Choose one to suit your budget

My budget is only $60.I live in Jamaica and have been trying to get an upgrade for almost a year. There are no cards for my system here.
