Video Card Upgrade Time

Hey all. I've had a 5770 in my system for about a year and I've just gotten some nice bonus cash as a birthday gift and have found a buyer for my 5770. Now...

What to get?

I'm thinking a Sapphire 7850.

I noticed there another card of the same version but it's OC version? I assume this is an OC I can do myself as the card and cooler appear to be the same.

Thanks for any input.

Oh, duh. Budget: $180-220.

I think you should get either that Sapphire or maybe an MSI Twin Frozr 7850 for around 220.

The Sapphire there looks good though. :good:

At the end of the day they're both good cards from great brands. The Sapphire is cheaper so I'd probably recommend that over the MSI but the MSI has a very nice cooler.

I also noticed a 1GB or 2GB version. Would it make much difference at my 1600 x 900 resolution?

For your res 1GB should be enough but I'd still go for 2GB anyway. You never know when you may replace your monitor.

Hey Man;
Thanks for the info on that HIS card. I am looking to buy a video card in November, will be checking this one out. I was looking at the Sapphire 7850 OC for around the same price range. And this card will fit into my case.

the new series from nvidea are smaller, the radeons are much longer. So if you have the money, the gtx660ti is the way to go! If you take a dual-fan I don't think it's gonna fit.
