Ok, ive got a maxed out notebook with a
NVIDIA GeForce GO 7600 256MB PCI-Express X16 Video

I play mostly counter strike source and bf1942, but if i wanted to could i play mostly anything? do i have limitations? will the casual gamer notice any big differances? just gimmie an overview of the card. its the best card they offered

It's probably equivelent to a 7300GT PC card, so most likley you can max out CS:S and maybe a few other games, but overall you're going to have to use med-settings. Or at least thats what I think, but I dunno since I don't know the specs of the lappy version of the 7600...

its exactly the same performance. Same card, its only got 256mb ram, so if i played like doom 3 on high settings would it lag or smear?

The go 7600GT should be better than the 7300GT Desktop card, I have seen the go 7600GT in action, its pretty good for its price. I have seen it play need for speed carbon on MAX settings with no AA or AS at a resolution of 1180x768

It could prob play almost anything, but the real question is how good would it be at playing those games.. you could prob run the newest game in high res but it'll be sooo laggly you wouldn't wana play. Laptops arent really made for gaming ... But if u insist on it .. then ...

I don't think a gaming laptop can survive long without a power point and that defeats one of the main reasons of having a laptop in the first place - portability.

Yea, I hear that a lot. I get 4.5 hours per battery on low settings (just meaning no video card pretty much) so for web surfing, note taking etc its not bad. I got 2 batterys, usually dont even run down 1 a day. But yea, I don't play the really good graphics games, but I might try like doom 3 for fun. Thanks for the input guys
