Video Card?

Right now I have a decent laptop and I was wondering if I can install a better video card. Right know the one I have is sh*t and I would like to have a decent one for games and video editing while im on the road. Any ideas?
 
well it depends on your current card, if it is intel, the answer is no, you cant upgrade it.

if the card is nVidia or ATi then yes, you can. BUT, this is very expensive (around £300) for a mediocre (compared to Desktop versions of the same cards) card that will most probably have to be installed by a specialist and it is nearly impossible to find somewhere that sells them
 
Well I have an Intel cpu. And I have an nVidia card. I dont know the conversions from Euro to American money, so about how much would that be in American money?

your CPU has nothing to do with it. which nVidia card do you have at the moment? i see you have given us no details about your laptop, which would be useful.

but ill state again, this is not a good use of money, you will be spending £100s (or $100s) more than you would on an equivelent (or better) desktop card.

make sure you research where you can buy them from before you actually buy one!
 
Honestly the chances are that you will either not be able to upgrade your video card at all, you will not find one you want thats available, or the one you want is extremely expensive.

But as another poster said, we need to know more details about your laptop. I noticed you said you have an nVidia card at the moment, now you're not talking about the 6100/6150 for instance, are you? Because those are integrated.
 
Im almost positive the card is integrated. The reason I havent given details is cause im at school right know, and I dont know the specs off the top of my head like I do my main PC. But I will give them to you when I get home.
 
I'd love to be able to access the CF when I'm at school.
