Video card??

I have a pc that used to work just fine. But, not to long ago it stopped showing the picture on the monitor. I know the monitor works, I have plugged it into another computer to verify. So, I tried to put a video card in hoping that it would be plug and play. Unfortunately, that didn't work either. So, now I'm left to ask. What could be the problem and how can I fix it.

It could be the power supply.

Can you see anything when it boots?

When you put the graphics card in, did you go into the BIOS and
tell it to look for the PCI slot for graphics instead of Onboard?

It's not the power supply, I have tried that as well. I don't see anything when it boots up. I can hear the pc booting up, but the monitor says there is no signal. and as far as the BIOS goes I'm not really sure how to do that but if I can't see anything how would I do that?

You did plug the monitor into the card right? And not back on the board as it was before?

Not trying to be rude, just making sure.

I've heard people put a graphics card in and left the monitor plugged
into the onboard.
