Video Cards Better than 7600

Both! While some have had apparent "problems" with the 7900 line the 7950s have been good so far. With ATI the X1800 line goes over it followed by the newer X1900 and X1950 models. ATI also offers the FireGL models on top of those.

He is most likely going to play games so that rules out the FireGL line of products together with the Quadro series from nVidia.

No what that means is the Radeon line is geared more towards gaming while the FireGL series is geared towards graphics design and CAD. But then game designers would more likely be running ???

I got mine for 350$ tax included and in canadian money. I say its a nice price.

In US dollars a few of these models are now seen around $239.99 at newegg. In fact the EVGA 7950GT is now seen for $214.99 at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130074

I had that like last week but upgraded and it was worth every penny. I was fed up with that x1300 :P

Please don't rub it in! :P At the time I ordered the budget didn't allow a real tail kicker for a card. Soooooo.... I will just have to attend the latest pc show where I saved a bundle last year on 2gb of ram! yaaa.. FX 60, Opteron 185, tail kicking video card? Let's see what they have! :D
