Ok i jsut got a new computer. It only has a 300 watt power supply and i noticed that a lot of cards require much more than that. SO i contacted hp (my computer manufactuer) and they said that 350 watts is the most i can put into my computer otherwise something would screw up in the computer. I really need a vid card. ANyone have any idea if you can go beyond a 350 watt power supply??

My specs
amd x2 5000+ (2.6ghz)
2gb sdddr2 ram
320 sata hd

Computer Powersupplies are regulated supplies.. you could hook up a 1000Watt powersupply to your pc.,. but if the pc only needs 250Watt.. the power supply will only deliver 250Watt to the pc :)
So,.. if the connection on the motherboard (i think that would be a 24 pin motherboard connector, and a 4 pin connector) are the same ones as on the powersupply.. you'll have no trouble fitting in a new one :o
 
thx for the help you two i really appreciate it. So now i need some idea's on a good vid card that woul run games like oblivion and fear on full settings. got any idea's?
