i dont know if its my video codecs but all the videos i try to play on WMP end up too dark. the reason this is a problem is because i started a netflix subscription and im going to be watching the movies on my computer..

the problem is temporarily fixed if i open another video program and then open WMP. the darkness shows up in the other player, i can then close that player and WMP is fine until i close WMP.

any idea what is wrong??

Turn on brightness/contrast on your monitor? Maybe you just bought an crappy monitor?

TEMPORARY SOLUTION - Download Halo Trial, run it, change settings and raise the brightness, press the Windows tab on you keyboard, you screen will light up ALOT, or how much you enabled on halo.

i dont want to download any game trials (spam) and im not going to come back to this website if im simply going to get criticized. please help me with my problem.

I would try updating your drivers for your video card. If they are updated to the most recent, then try reverting to an older driver. Last time something like that happened to me it was a driver issue.

I didn't understand taylors post, and oscar gave you a couple answers, so I am not sure why someone with 3,000 posts here is making comments like someone with 10 who hasn't found a place here...For someone who has been here a while, you should know sometimes it takes more than an a couple hours to get a good answer that solves your issues.

I would play around with different drivers. If that and anything else doesn't work, maybe try a reinstall, who knows what can screw up software wise.
