Video conversion and splicing

I have two .rm videos each 1/2 of a full movie. Is there any software you would recommend that would allow me to convert and combine these files into one full avi or mpeg or w/e movie file on my hard drive without buring it to a disc. thanx
 
Are you willing to pay?
A lot of the programs that support .rm aren't free.. and if they are.. they probably aren't doing a good job of it.
