Video editing/playback pc

Hi all, i use my computer for quite a bit of video editing/playback, recently my system has started to struggle a bit & is quite slugish at certain tasks so i am looking to upgrade to something a bit more powerfull, my current system is as follows,

Processor = intel core2 Quad Q6600 @2.40GHz, L2 cache 0KB

Memory = 4GB (2.69GB usable)

Motherboard = Foxcon P4M900-8237A

Video card = NVIDIA GeForce 210

I dont have a very high budget & was looking at the ASUS CM6330-UK002O on sale with the following spec.


Memory = 8 GB

Storage = 1 Tb

Processor = Intel Core i7

Processor Model = i7-3770

Processor Speed = 3.9 GHz

Processor Bus = 650 MHz

Processor Cache = 8 MB

Number of Cores = Quad

Operating System = Windows 7 Home Premium

Dedicated Graphics: Shared Graphics = Intel HD4000.

Couple of questions: would this system be more suitable for avchd video editing/playback than my old system?, are there any off the shelf systems that have a better spec than this for around the same price(£579)?
 
Most of the system is very good and it is far better than your current system, it has twice the memory, a large tb hard drive, and a much better processor.

The only problem is it is inbuilt intel hd graphics, which is pretty good but as you said you are doing a lot of video editing, you will almost certainly want a dedicated graphics card.
