I am getting a tv tuner card sometime this week. When I record stuff off of the tv what would be a good editing program for deleting out the commercials and stuff?

I usually use Nandub or VirtualDub (basically the same program)

Preferably something that I can burn to a dvd like MPEG
1. DVD is MPEG2 (technicality yes but a distinct one)
2. You need to figure out what format you are recording to before you can record ....

well if he is he can just use plain ole windows movie maker 2 or pay a few bucks for adobe or that quicktime program and i do beilive that the adobe 1 edits all of the major formats??? and since the vid card makers arent totaly hartless theyll probly make it a format thats acually viewble

if u want add special effects and other cool stuff, i recommend adobe aftereffect. if u just want to cut off the parts u don't want, any other program will do, because all u do is cut and join right, what the point of getting a fancy program, just cut and join u're done.

Thats prolly not the problem, its the post-processing but pre-authoring process that program selection is somewhat important (i.e., you dont use TMPGEnc/CCE for MPEG4 operations)

Cuz some programs dont know how to deal with VBR encodes
