Video Editor for Boosting Volume on Portion of Video

I have a small video file made by a video camera while it was held by me. My voice is clearly audible, whereas the person yelling towards me from a few yards away is a much lower volume on the video.

Anyone have suggestions for a good video editor that can boost the harder-to-hear portions of the video, while leaving the interspersed audio of my voice unchanged in volume?

Thanks for any and all help.

Which video editing program are you using? Adobe Premiere allows you to extract the audio.

You could then import into something like Audacity and boost the required portion, then import the new file back into Premiere / whichever program you are using

Thanks for your kind reply.

I haven't been using any video editing program lately, but used Windows Movie Maker (WMM) only a couple times several years back on a old computer. Just haven't done much video editing.

I'm more used to using Audacity and appreciate the suggestion. Maybe I could use the suggested approach with WMM?

Appreciate the suggestion.
