Video embedding

Ok so I have a Windows Media Player Video I want to embed in my index page of my website.

Do I have to upload it somewhere first (I dont want their company or ads on it)

I am just testing to see how it looks.

Im just using html.. some tiny bit of javascript.

it would be much better to upload the video to youtube or vimeo ( http://vimeo.com ) and embed that.

upload you movies until 100 mb on you tube and just copy the code which is where you video is and paste it in the movie table of your html page.
this is the best choise.
also people can comment and rate it.

Well it depends on the size... If you want to take up a lot of space on your server, then upload it on your server. But that takes Bandwith too everytime they view the video...

Then you'll have to put the URL in a <embed> tag.
Look on W3c schools or google it for more information
