I was also considering buying this option, but had something a bit different in mind. Along with this, I was looking at the 32" Westinghouse 1080P monitor. My thought was, I could use this as my entire home entertainment system. I believe that is where the video optimizer comes in - to give a better picture when using the monitor to view TV/Video.
The only problem is, I used to service TV and video equipment, and Westinghouse was always well-known as a garbage brand.
While we're on the subject of Alienware, what does everybody think about the physics processing unit? Probably a waste of money at the present time, but will probably lead to great future improvements.
