i was wondering about this piece of hardware. Does it allow you to have different images on each monitor or do you just have the same image on both monitors

Just a splitter. If you want 2 different images, you need 2 video cards or a video card that supports dual monitors.

Ya, I agree.

I got trapped and bought one of those and found that it's just a splitter, no more, no less.

1 Picture = 1 Graphics Card
2 Pictures = 2 Graphics Cards
x Pictures = x Graphics Cards
