You might be able to... if it has a 7600GT it's probably a dedicated/removable card. However, many laptops still require a card specific to the laptop... YOu can't just find on off newegg or anything like that.

As for the hard drive, yes, a faster drive will have a higher power consumption. However, the noise is relative to the drive. I've seen old 3600 drives that were much louder than WD Raptors(desktop drives, but still, RPMs don't matter that much :P)

so, if i happen to pick that notebook (if there is other suggestions for a $1500 notebook that can outpiss this one, please let me know) would another battery pack more than compensate? and has anyone had experience with one of these? i am going to get xp media center (for my 360[and no not for the 360 itself, for compatibility]) and is 2g ram overkill? cause i can't see myself needing it without vista, even though i do a decent amount of things with photoshop(spellcheck wanted me to say photos hop). i am thinking about a macbook simply because they are more versatile, but i have more questions than i care to voice because they make me sound like a child. is Bootcamp(including xp) free is one.. :BADNESS:!!!and the like..is there themes for the mac to make the menus and such not so gray and bland..like i said, uneducated questions. the real big reason i am skeptical about buying a mac is compatibility with my zune, and if i would have to buy xp or wait a long time for someone to hack itunes to sync it or the zune SW to run on a mac. i want a portable device or w would have bought one of those fancy tower macs and wouldn't care if i had to buy xp, since they would act like both. i WILL NOT get vista for a long while, and i do not want to emulate any OS. if i do end up getting a mac, i will wait for leopard, and wait for the hubbub to die down.

edit::i need to proofread

Unless money is not an object I don't see why you'd want to upgrade your graphics on your laptop. Its more economical just to get another one. Think about it, it would cost an arm and a leg just to upgrade the graphics and at the end of the day, you are still stuck with your old CPU and RAM. Laptops are not designed to be gaming machines, they are designed to be portable.

the second one is the one i want at the moment. i am about 95% sure i will get it, it is just the matter of saving for it. it doesn't have any options to upgrade the video or i would. the system is $1,172 with all i want, 2.20g processor, and 1g stick of ram. i don't think i would use all 2g if i got it, but it is a $100 upgrade, with 100% possible performance upgrade...if i do end up running vista, would 1g cover all needed? or would 2g be the more effective choice?

edit:: not gaming so much as photo editing. and some video editing. i need to have a card that buffers fast and nice. i have a desktop machine, but i need a portable alternative. i was trying to hit under $1300, and if i needed, i could upgrade to 2g and be good..hopefully. there is also a intel version that has a 2.33g processor, but it is almost 200$ more and in my opinion not worth it, because i have had better luck with AMD anyways,but no experience with the notebooks and the mobile 'turion' processor, or intel, for that matter
