What do you mean nintendo? Like n64, gamecube? You can't get a video card for a counsole. There's already a vid card. And even if you get one, it definetly won't make your graphics on the PC better, which i dont see how you could think of it, as a counsole is in no ways connected to a pc.

You mean a capture card? That records what you do on the console onto your computer. Is that what your looking to do?

i am not sure???!
Here is what i want to do.
Get someting that will allow me to plug a nintendo 64 to my PC.

What do i need?

Chris

well, im not sur eif i understand that first sentence (im french :P)
So, her eis what i want to do in details....

I want to be able to plug a nintendo 64 into the PC, so that the game will play on the screen. I know i have to plug it into the PC. and i know that i need to get something to put it into the PC, so that i have the plugs for the nintendo,.

What do i need?

Chris

You don't need to plug it into the PC. You just need to get a composite to VGA converter and a KVM switch. Thats more or less the setup I have. Or if you want less complicated, get a capture card and plug the N64 video into that. You can buy a converter for the audio at the french equivalent of Radio Shack. Not sure what that would be. :)

EDIT: Capture card comes with the audio converter. So buy that and I guess you would be fine.

You need something like the Dazzle. However, I dont think there are any with that older Cable connector type thing with the pin in the middle. You might have to get something a little more expensive or have to look for it.

Or if there are convertors to the audio/video inputs, then get that. Basically it has to have those wires for the yellow, white, and red. Or, you have to find one with the other connector.

The capture card is cheaper, and seems more reliable compared to the Dazzle. Just my opinion though.

A capture card takes input from an external source (in your case N64, it takes video and audio) and runs it on the computer through a program. You can record what goes on, or just play it. So yes, it does do graphics. And sound.

Sweet! ok, all my questions are answered, it is really clear! i will go to the store soon ,whenever i go to town.

Sounds great.

Thx alot!
Chris

Yup, there are many many ways to go about doing it. That was just one of the way... Like an idea of the type of connectors you may need because not all of them are the same. One may have just one video in and an s-video only. etc etc.

The dazzle does have like a couple seconds lag so if you are playing games that require attention all the time, then you might have to go for something more internal and possible more expensive for the quality that you need it for.
