Depends on the purpose of the card. Gaming? Awesome gaming? Just plain old movies and puzzle master?

To put it simply,
Memory, clock speeds, Dx version support and power requirements are all key things to look out for. Brand plays a big part in a lot of people decision aswell. Post up your requirements and we'll help you out.

What Video Card is it?
There are quite a few important components that have to work with the GPU. Namely:
Motherboard (enough/correct expansion slots, also right amount of lanes)
Case (It's got to fit)
PSU (Got to be capable of delivering enough power, also you want decent brand)
OS[to some extent] Some OSs will only support certain CPU features, e.g. Windows XP supports only up to DirectX10.
Peripherals (You won't be able to take advantage of some features if you don't have them) e.g. Eyefinity on AMD cards, you need 3 monitors to utilise it

Actually I am not more than a school student ICT. I need to look on internet for a lot of information concerning hardware/software. Those things which are too difficult to find on websites I seek in forums. It's the best way to get more expirience, I suppose.
