Well my friend thinks that getting a new video card would be useless.

Can someone provide me with convincing info thats gonna make him realize what a new videocard does to your pc.

Well it depends on what video card you have now, and what video card you plan to get? but anyways a better video card allows you to play games at better graphic settings.

like right now I have the radeon x1300 series and I play the games on max and hes saying it would be useless to get my x1900xtx 512mb. That's just an example. But upgrading to a better card in general obviously isd gonna make you play games better.

Wow no. That would be a pretty big upgrade. You'd see quite a difference.

2gb of ram
450 watt psu

I used to question that at first too, i went from some crappy video card (i dont even remember what it was) to a 7600gt. There was HUUUGGEE difference in my games. For example when i played oblivion BEFORE i got the upgrade, it seemed as if i was playing a game where every 3-4 seconds a new screenshot appeared (thats how laggy it was). AFTER the upgrade i was able to run the game smoothly on medium settings, which i was happy with.

even with my game maxed out on setting what diferences will u actually see and also for example let ssay im playing a really old game with peopel in the game that have squarish head and square body parts... will teh graphic card do anythign or it also deopends on how good teh graphics were made to be seen
