I was sitting at my computer the other day (well...like 5 minutes ago lol) and I all of a sudden thought, "Whats the difference between videos and games?"
To explain what I mean more...why can even low-end video cards/integrated show movies (like dvds or recorded tv shows or whatever) PERFECTLY, but for games, you need high-end cards to show it perfectly (high settings).

So what's difference between a video and a game (video card wise)?

All your computer needs to do to display a movie is decode, then paint the static image on the screen.

When playing a game it's much more complicated. You can't simply decode and place the image on the screen, You, the user, is controlling what's displayed on the screen at all times.. The GPU has to work extra hard to pull data off the RAM, Configure it in the way needed, perform calculations, etc to display the image precisely as you dictate.
