View Screen Software App

Hi, guyz/gals - Welcome to newbie me.

I'm looking for some software, if it exists. I do photo restoration/enhancement work and the most time-consuming part of it is the posting back-and-forth of samples between myself and my clients, in order to modify and tweak the final image. What I currently do is post the sample to my site, email the client, and have to wait until he/she replies with further instructions. This can go on for days, sample after revised sample.

It would be so much quicker if the client could sit next to me as I modified the image, and give me instant feedback. But, since these clients are all over the country, that's impossible. What I'm looking for, if there is such a thing, is an application that I could install on my computer, BUT WHICH IS NOT NECESSARY TO INSTALL ON MY CLIENT'S COMPUTER, that would allow me to call the client, have him/her sit down in front of their computer, and be able to view MY screen, in real time, as I am doing the modifications.

Can anyone tell me if there IS such an application, keeping in mind the caveat that I can't ask my clients to install anything on their computer?

Thanx in advanx,

Barry

Lots of them. RealVNC has a free one. I suggest for the price you get Realvnc Enterprise. I use it for the same often enough just showing family how to.
Many times for repairing a computer and fixing issues. it will act as a ftp server also to rip files off of the other. Even allows me to do something like repair the reg. clean and then reboot with full control.

www.realvnc.com

the enterprise offers a lot more encryption. free does not.

You can use it from your network or another state. ive even managed to turn on my computer from another state or country for accessing, uploading or downloading with the right utilities.

Hi, Tremmor - thanks for the quick reply.

I wasn't very hopeful that there would be something out there that needn't be downloaded by my clients - good to hear that there is. Also, the FTP feature sounds great - I can send them full-sized images instead of the tremendously downsized versions that I post to my site.

I'll check it out right now.

you can access with a free client that will allow you to upload/download with full control. the free client can be downloaded to anyone you want.

if its just for viewing you can use ie explorer or firefox. good for watching.

be careful about giving them controls. they can make a mess.

I'm on the RealVNC website as we speak. I don't see anything about allowing another computer to view my screen without the other computer first having to download RealVNC. I'm about to send them an inquiry to ask them if that is possible.

I have TeamViewer which works just perfect for this job, when someone needs my help, I simply send him/her the executable, he executes it, gives me the ID and password and I can see and control their screen. Also, you can select "Presentation" mode which doesn't allow controlling the screen.

Hi, Chi.

I'm not sure that's what I'm looking for. I don't want to see and control the other person's screen - I want the other person to see (but not control) my screen.
