view webcam on TV remotely via Bluiris or similar?

I have a webcam plugged into the USB port on my TV. The TV is networked. Is it at all possible to use that webcam as a security camera to my bluiris box? or would I need to get a USB to cat5 converter kit and run it over a separate line. I would like to avoid running another line if possible.

I don't think you can use the webcam like that. I believe the usb port if for media like pics or music. The tv probably doesn't even recognize the webcam.

I agree with john, even if the TV does pick up the webcams video feed, you'll have a hell of a time trying to send the feed over the network using the TV's network connection, as there's no way to install any kind of drivers for the device or select any networking functions
