viewsonic monitor problem

hey, i just got a free viewsonic monitor but there is something wrong with it. When you turn it on the screen will flash on for a second and then go off. any ideas? Thanks in advance
 
Probably the board thingy in there is fried. I've had one do the same thing. BENQ... then it just flashed white, and dies. The board in there probably died. Either get an old one offa ebay and switch the boards, or just get an new monitor, or sell it the way it is.
 
it doesnt flash white or anything it just turns off, and then ill turn it back on and ill see the picture on the screen and then it flashes off again
 
Yes... like I said... The display board probably is fried... so you see an faint background when it "turns off"?
