Viewsonic P815 21" Monitor

It sure sounds to me that the monitor is dead. The clicking could either be a resolution problem or something else, but either way it is having trouble initiating something. Try anything you want, but I have a strong feeling that it will end up in the garbage.

Bobo, the clicking is normal for a Viewsonic. A relay picks up to turn the monitor on. When the monitor turns off for power saving, the relay drops out. It's a significant click both times.

You said it was given to you by someone else. Do you know if the monitor is in working order? I'm short on ideas.

It would be nice to try the monitor on another pc but a 21" monitor is not very portable. If you know someone with a laptop with VGA output, it would be easier than carting the monitor around!

Tats the thing the guy didint know if even worked. It was just laying around. and he didnt have the cables to test it to see if it worked. My friend is going send me a vga cable he had laying around his house. and he said myabe that would... But if not.. I guess i will be putting it out in wednesday trash. :(.

I could try it on the computer downstairs but like you said its not very portable. And i had to carry it up stairs by my self. and im a female. lol.. but i might get the neighbor guy to help me taking it down. will try that.

I'd make the guy who you got the monitor from to do the carrying. If the neighbour is good-looking I guess he'll do too.

I think we are at the point where you have to connect it somewhere else just to see. You will have to carry it down for the trash guy so try your other pc on the way!
