My wife watches a lot of Home Shopping Network Channel type tv programs. She saw they were selling the Vipre Internet Security 2013 for $ 89 for a lifetime use on 10 computers. Does anyone have any experience with this software, either good or bad. I did a search on this forum and one person got a virus in spite of this software. I currently use Norton 360 and have been for a number of years and have never had a problem. I also have Maleware software which I also run. Is the Vipre as good as or better than Norton or Maleware together, or should I just tell her I installed it and not do it.
I also did a search on the internet and half of the reviews were poor and half were excellent. Is that because the software company has seeded the reviews with 5 star reviews. There were only the two extremes, nothing in between!
 
To be honest, you don't need to purchase virus software when you have many programs that are free that will do the job nicely.

1. Avast
2. Microsoft Security Essentials
3. Avira
4. AVG

There are other free ones out there as well but the top 4 is listed.
 
I've heard from others that Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty good and it is free. Thanks for the suggestions.
