Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of upgrading my PC, and I want a new monitor. Right now I have a 19" 1440x900 Gateway monitor. I ran across some video glasses that can hook up to a PC, and the lenses (two mini monitors as the lenses) projects a 2D/3D 55" to 75" screen from 10 feet away, depending on, the model you get.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with them, and if they are worth purchasing over a monitor. Here is the link to the manufacturer: http://vuzix.com/consumer/

Edit: I am currently looking at the 920 and 1200 series model.

Me personally? I would rather have a monitor. its just more practical. I do think its a neat idea, maybe for videos in bed, but not for a general use screen.

You can get a 24 inch for 200$, thats a decent size screen, you would for sure tell quite a difference from your 19 inch monitor.

I've heard of terrible reviews with those, that's why not a lot of people have them. It just gives you a big headache, basically. Go with a monitor.

I found a few reviews, and a lot of them said they were heavy on the face, a few mentioned that they need to be adjusted before using them, otherwise, the headache will happen almost right away, and they mentioned that it was like a 24" monitor at 3 feet away.

The product recommends 10 feet away, not 3, so that must be where people are having the size issue. And, it seems like some people are not adjusting the lenses before using them.

I was just hoping for a large format experience without the cost of one :D I guess it is too good to be true for everyday use :(

However, I may or may not do a review in the future ;)
