I have installed two VMs where one is running as a Server (Windows Server 2008 R2) and another Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit. Now, the server has Active Directory installed on it with local IP 192.168.1.2 and another NIC card is added for external connections to the web. A FQDN is also set-up being thiswebsite.com
Now, how will the client know if I want to ping thiswebsite.com if it's on the local domain on the actual live website on the Internet? Whenever I try to ping via local IP, it works but if I try to ping the domain it pings externally.
