Virtual memory?

when you've got windows installed on an old 80GB PATA drive it does, apparently.

I prefer to keep my faster SATA drives for storage only, so opted to put my system on my slowest disk, which was my primary reason for wanting to disable VM in the 1st place.
I dont really understand why your doing that. Wouldnt you want the OS to load up fast and run smoothly? Granted theres not a huge difference, but still.

So if i have 2 gigs of Ram does anyone have some suggestions for best performance on my machine. Right now my is set to...

intial: 800 mb
Max: 1536 mb

I would disable the PF if you have 2GB of RAM. But just make sure you dont have so many apps running that it takes up almost all of your RAM, because then other apps/games that require alot of memory wont be able to run that well.
