Virtual Memory

I cannot get into my folder name my pictures as everytime i go into it my computer crashes and says your virtual memory is running low, windows if fixing it . Can anyone help me to overcome this problem and expand my virtual memory or something?

Right click on my computer, pick propterties. From there goto the advanced tab, click on the settings button under performance and at the bottom you have a setting for virtual memory.

yeah done that but how do i know what to change it too to be effective and work,
at the moment its on : total paging size for all drivers 144mb
 
Depends on the stuff your running software wise and the hardware.

Whats the spec of the computer your having trouble with?

Also OS and software running...
 
If it's too low just make it bigger :)

Windows default rule is 1.5x the amount of RAM you have but you can make it whatever you want really.
 
right im a bit baffled.
what does initial size mean ? shall i increase that>? what ones shall i increase there is initial size maximum size
 
rrrrr i change the initial size and the maximum size

initial has gone to 300mb and maximum 500mb and my computer has messed up!!!!!!!!!!!!! it keeps crashing, what shall i change the initial and maximum size to?

The initial size is how big you want it to start at. The max is how big it can be automatically adjusted to if necessary. If adjusting it causing so many problems there's almost certainly something else wrong.

like what,,,, i cant do anything any more without saying virtual memory low bla bla bla and then it exits the programme!
 
I don't know what else could be wrong but it certainly sounds like theres something else.. is your hard drive nearly full?

no but right i cant delete any of my pictures without it crashing , is there anyway to delete files without going in that folder
