ok so ive been looking into virtual machines and i wana try virtual box, this question is basically for any1 that has used it before. Right now i have windows 7 on my pc and so on virtualbox's download page it says VirtualBox 3.2.6 for Windows hosts then next to that it says x86/amd64 and i was just curious what that means? because next to the different hosts it says different things

x86 usually denotes 32 bit processor architecture and the AMD64 would mean Virtualbox would be compatible with the processors 64 bit instruction set.

As Intel and AMD processors are all 64 bit now and backward compatible including 32 bit, Virtual box will run in anything.

alright thanks for the help thus far, i was gana run ubuntu inside of the virtual box but now i am having some issues burning ubuntu to a CD, im using the built in windows 7 burner and i get this error:0x80004005 any ideas?

That is a general error and can mean anything.

You are burning it as an image, yeah? and the burner at a slow speed. Not sure how W7's burner performs as I use Infra Recorder.

ya thats what ive found that is in a generic error, and ya im burning it as in image, and with the W7 burner there really isnt any settings for speed so i might try another burner that i can change the speed, thanks for the suggestions

I use Infra Recorder as well. If you want a new program, I would recommend that to burn. It works really well, and it has never burnt a wasted disc for me.
