If you've got some good antivirus then put the virus in quarantine, or the antivirus will, then you can delete it from there. However if you have no antivirus and you know the virus file then you can delete it using shift+del, dont use delete as some viruses activate once in the recycling bin, shift+del will simply delete it permanently. Anitvirus is recommended though because you may accidentaly delete an infected file, which the computer needs.

alot of the time if you cant delete the virus you cant quarintine it... get a program like AVG its free and works great once virus is detected it pops up and you click delete. If that program cant do it try using a system restore and go before you got the virus (if optional) other than that ive had some pretty ansty viruses and i just copied what i wanted from the harddrive and started fresh (a format)
