Virus disabling Norton?

Is there a virus that disables Norton system works 2004? Evertime I try to do a system scan the Norton WMI update window pops up and just closes after several seconds. I'm running win xp home

Ok let me provide a little more detail. When I open the Norton window and click on norton anitvirus I get the following window: Please wait while windows configures norton WMI update. This window stays active for a several seconds and then Norton closes. Any ideas?

Yea, viruses tend to disable your ANTI virus

First do a scan with panda online scanner and tell me if it finds anything then post a hijack this log!

Looks like the panda scan is going to take a while. It found a lot of spy ware and 1 hacking tool right off. I will get back to you when the scan is doen.

After you are done scanning with panda do a scan with ewido as well, make sure you update definitions after you download it!

After scanning with ewido then reboot computer and post a new hijackthis log!

also make sure when you do a scan with EWIDO, start your computer in safe mode.

Man I let panda scan my pc and then had to down load and run the trial offer and then it totally ****ed my pc. When it rebooted It would totally freeze. I had to do a system restore. I don't WTF is the deal is.

After you did system restore are you able to boot up as normal? Did the panda scan find a virus in a exe. file? If so what file?

Just boot into safe mode and scan with norton. Unless the virus has infected the norton binaries themselves, it should work fine.
