Virus in temp internet files

I have found out that I have a virus in my tempory internet files I have deleted it my self ans done the virus check and has come up that no virus's where found, have i got rid of the virus or could it be still in my computer attacking other files.

Thanks for any replies.
 
It could still be there. Did you turn off system restore and reboot your computer before scanning? If not the virus could be hiding in the SR files.
 
I'd scan again in Safe Mode. That or see about making a BartPE disk with a virus scanner on it. They have no chance of loading if you're not even booting from the harddrive ;)
