virus question

hey guys, i have downloaded a program, which some people are saying has a virus a lot of people are saying it hasnt
1st question whats the best prog to scan it with to be sure it doesnt have a virus
2nd question if i download it to a spare drive i have and open it can it access other drives or is it restricted to the drive i download it to
appreciate any help

Downloading programs illegally cause many problems including viruses, beyond the fact that it's illegal and also not to be discussed on this site. Thread closed.
