What do you guys recommend for Virus and Spy software. I have McAfee, Norton and Webroot. And what is bitdefender it keeps coming up on my msn. I have verizon dsl premium so they give me msn premium and this is my web browser, which I like. I don't like all this other software that slow down the computer to a hault at time. I hear NOD 32 was very nice. What do you guy think, it can be both free downloadable software or software I have to buy. I just want good protection without all the BS.

Cool, I'm gonna download now. What about a spy software. I'm currently running the free version of webroot. We'll I guess it's not free, it's part of the MSN Premium software package.
 
AVG 8.0 IMO is the best 'free' antivirus, because Avira AntiVir doesn't scan for Spyware. However, the best paid antivirus is Kaspersky + Eset's Nod32.

For a firewall, you don't need to buy anything because there are such good alternatives. Go with Comodo Firewall PRO if you know a lot about computers, and for basic users get Sunbelt's Kerio Firewall. Both are much better than the original Windows Firewall.

For anti-spyware/adware, best free alternatives are Ad-Aware + Spybot Search & Destroy. For paid, Ad-Aware Paid is good and so is A-squared Anti-Malware.
