virus/spyware transfer from one HD to another?

well I got a new HD and since today(before I got the HD) everything was all screwey with errors and stuff i figure it is something bad like a virus or spyware that someone how on it, here is my dilema I want to copy some of those files over but i dont want virus or any other crap that was on that Hd to transfer over without me knowing it. :confused:


Is it possible to transfer over with out me copyed it my self? I will be copyeing files that i know arn't infected :cool:

As long as the files are clean, you shouldn't have any problems. I don't think anything will "jump" to the new drive.
 
alright, so nothing will move by itsself then? the stuff im moving I know is clean, some other stuff is pretty iffy though.
