Virus :(

When I was moving files that I downloaded, my norton detected W32.Virut.A and cannot remove it.
Even though I ran the system twice (once with quick, and once with full), it did not detect the virus.
So I tried System recovery and everytime I tried it, it said it couldn't recover to that day.
How do I remove this virus?

the virus may be just a simple one, or a very bad one. get stinger, avast antivrius, and spybot search and destroy. or else reformat time
