Excuse me for my ignorance but what is the easiest way to check if your computer has viruses, spyware, adware, worms, trojans, etc. Is the Windows Task Manager Processes list reliable for doing this?

Thanks, but isn't it possible for those things in the link to contain the above? If they are free, there has to be a catch, right?

There's no catch, there is paid versions but these are free.

you might not want to pay but the best things to have are the whole Norton Package, Webroot Spy Sweeper and Registry Mechanic.

Not really the "best" if there free counterparts will do the same job.
