On your desktop, click 'start/run' and type in services.msc and click okay.
Look for both of these entries.
ServiceHost
Windows Kernel Serivce
Select Stop/apply and okay.
Open HijackThis and select - Misc. Tools/Delete an NT Service
Type in one at a time ServiceHost and Windows Kernel Serivce - make sure the spelling is EXACT- notice the 2nd one is spelled (Serivce)
Don't reboot until both have been entered.
Once back in windows, purge the restore folder by going to 'Control Panel/ System/System Restore' and check the box ' Turn off system restore on all drives' click 'apply' and 'okay'.Reboot your computer and then enable system restore again and create a 'New Restore Point' by going to 'Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore'.
Run 'HJT' and those 2 last entries should be gone. Let me know how things go and how your system is running.
