For those of you who seem to have sluggish poor performance, that usually comes from one of two things, 1. Having a non WDDM display card, and 2. Having any piece of hardware or software which has incompatibilities. The performance measurer will tell you if you have software or drivers which are slowing down your system, and most systems will have at least a few. However, the point of Vista right now is not to be flawless and be for main usage. It's a beta OS to deploy their code and test it in different environments. Many corporations, businesses, and other facilities will use this code simply to test how it will be when the go to upgrade. It's also used for software and hardware vendors to deploy new compatibile drivers, and to get ready for It's not meant to use for a main OS or for convienient usage right now. More software (possibly not all) will eventually get more compatible along with hardware and the final launch will be what a release OS is. I don't know why people are getting so nervous, all beta OSes are like this.
